Compare Software Downloads.

My latest attempt to make this site more useful involves a huge expansion of the category indexes.

As before you can sort each index

• by price with free/lowest price items first
  
• by name
  
• by release date with latest released product at the top
  
• with recommended and sponsored items at the top. This is the default.
  

Now in addition to the list of all downloads for a category, you have a shortlist and an extended list.

The shortlist contains only recommended and sponsored items. Many of these items can be purchased immeditaely by clicking the link and a direct link to the authors site is also available.
In some categories the shortlist has been hand edited to make it easy to select the best available programs.

The shortlist also offers a simple clean design. To get additional info when using the list:

• Place the mouse over the program name to see a description.
  
• Place the mouse over the release date to see the main category for the program.
  
• Place the mouse over the price to see expanded price details.
  

The shortlist may include relevant items from other categories. These are easily identified as they are highlighted in pink. Place the mouse over the release date to see the main category for the program.


The list of All Category Downloads contains only programs for which this is the most suitable category for that program.
NB The category is available both in the title, and on the blue bar. Click on the link Contents to see where in the hierarchy the category fits.


The Extended List contains relevant downloads from other categories as well as all programs from this category. Programs have been identified as relevant due to some text in the desription or name. However they have been placed in another more suitable category for that program.
If you click on the program name to see details for that program, you will be transferred to a differrent category. Screen slides and Indexes will be shown for the new category.

The Extended List also has a simpler design then the Category List. To get additional info when using this list:

• Place the mouse over the program name or release date to see a description.
  
• Place the mouse over the abbreviated category name to see the full category path for the program.
  
• Place the mouse over the price to see expanded price details.
